Redwood Empire Bets Big With Four-Grain Blend In New Hyperion Series

Redwood Empire has thrown four whiskeys into one bottle and called it Hyperion Batch 001, the first in what the distillery promises will be an annual series.

The blend runs 32% bourbon, 30% rye, 25% wheat, and 13% American single malt, with components aged 7 to 14 years, bottled at 110 proof.

That is an ambitious bit of blending arithmetic, and the age range suggests real barrels were committed to the effort rather than marketing copy alone.
